dog owners and how incredibly brainless they are
Today I was sitting with a friend in the woods. We were both sitting on the ground. Then, out comes a family and a dog (boxer). The boxer comes up to me and starts licking my back. First of all, I have nothing against dogs - I love them! Definitely a dog person; always pettting random dogs. Anyway, I'm just like politely laughing and I hear the owner, saying, "Shithead! Come back!" (don't know the actual name, shit head sounds good but that may describe the owner more than the dog).
The dog continues to lick my back and by then I am fully slobbered on. It's been like, ten seconds. The owner continues to call the dog back, saying, "no! don't do that!". Refer to the photo in the entry before - that is exactly where I was sitting when this licking episode happened. I couldn't move AT ALL while this dog was licking me and I had to rely (God help me) on the instinct and reaction-time of the retarded owner.
I am very confused. What kind of owner would let their pet lick a stranger for a full twenty seconds? What if I was deathly allergic? I'm just so.... confused. Wouldn't the first instinct be to pull your dog off the stranger ASAP? The dog was on a freaking LEASH!
I had nasty saliva bubbles all over my back and it was sooo nasty. I don't even let my own dog do this. As you already know, xanga, I've been on my nice-girl mode all week. It's just SO hard when there are millions of completely incompetant dog owners out in the world. Incompetant people who have shit for brains which makes this whole love-everybody thing REALLY difficult.

That is sort of creepy that someone would let his dog lick a stranger. I am not a dog person because of that. I don't like slobber. I had two dogs but they never slobbered unless they were way too excited.
A dog named Shit Head? That guy must have been a fan of one of my favorite movies, The Jerk. In that movie, the main character names his dog Shit Head.
@godfatherofgreenbay - with Steve Martin? After you say it's your favorite I defintely need to watch it soon....
I haven't been a fan of Martin's recent work. The Jerk is like nothing he has done in about 20 years. I think one of the appeals of the movie is that to me it seems like a Three Stooges-esque movie.
In the movie there's a little boy that is wearing a t-shirt that simply says "Bullshit". In college some friends and I figured out how to make t-shirts using the computer and the iron-on decals. We all made shirts that said "Bullshit".
